Colin Hamilton earned his Juris Doctorate from the Charleston School of Law in 2019 and joined our firm in 2024. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Colin graduated from the University of Florida, where he was a member of the Men’s Swim & Dive Team for the Gators from 2011 through 2015, earning SEC Championship titles his last three years in college.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology, Colin decided to attend law school and relocated to the Charleston area in 2016. His passion for advocacy allowed Colin to participate in multiple mock trial competitions around the southeast, where he received several titles and awards, including Best Overall Advocate and Best Direct Examination.
After law school, Colin accepted a position in the Beaufort County Public Defender’s Office, where he practiced for four years. As an Assistant Public Defender, Colin practiced in the Court of General Sessions representing indigent clients charged with misdemeanors and felony offenses. Colin brings a competitive edge to his practice, as well compassion and calculated risk assessment to ensure the most beneficial outcomes possible for his clients.
Outside of work, Colin enjoys spending his time with his wife, Alyssa, exploring the extensive waterways around the Lowcountry, as well as cheering on the Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars.
